Our Lady of Sorrows
Our Lady of Sorrows is a popular depiction of Jesus’ mother Mary mourning the loss of her son. The seven swords represent the Seven Sorrows of Mary. Of the many different devotions of the Virgin Mary, Our Lady of Sorrows typically has a very ornate crown and halo. I include cracking in the flesh areas of this piece as a way of mimicking the look of an antique weathered statue.
