Join Lapis Room for our first Art Talk of the year with "Skyscapes" artists Mika Maloney and Sean Hudson.
Mika Maloney is a writer, artist, and arts organizer based in Albuquerque, NM. She currently serves as the Executive Director at OffCenter Community Arts Project, where she also teaches writing and creative practice workshops. She has written two chapbooks of poetry, Ripscape (2007) and Spring Break (2019), and previously hosted Small Batch Poetry on TPG Radio (2022). Mika’s visual art spans a variety of mediums, including painting and fiber art. Consistent throughout her work are threads of curiosity, care, physicality, and playfulness.
Sean Hudson is an Albuquerque-based artist and teacher working at the intersection of painting and sculpture, drawing from the high desert landscape of New Mexico to explore change, perception, and presence.
