More Bounce to the Ounce: An Ode to New Mexico's lowrider culture with Stephen Mora.

I had the pleasure of meeting Stephen for the first time recently, and he was kind enough to answer some fun questions for us as part of our new, "Get to know me" series.

Here's what Stephen said...

1. What was on your playlist when you made this work?

I would say a lot of Zapp & Roger.

2. What is your spirit animal?

My spirit animal would likely be…

a Bear… an Eagle… a Wolf…

a French Bulldog.

3. What is your "mountaintop" for how you'd like your artwork to impact your community?

I think the ultimate goal of this artwork is to faithfully portray the beauty, creativity, craft, and care embodied by the lowrider. Lowriders are an iconic art form deeply rooted in New Mexico's culture and this artwork aims to foster wider dialogue around lowriding, to eliminate stigmas and gain appreciation.

Muchisimas Gracias, Stephen! Your commitment to New Mexico's culture is genuinely inspiring, particularly for those of us who grew up admiring the iconic lowriders that drove through our streets and neighborhoods!

Sharing music is my love language, so I created a playlist for you!

Let's enjoy it together as a club.

Xoxo,

Heather
