New Mexico Earth Earrings
New Mexico Earth is the name of an adobe factory in Albuquerque, and I fell in love with the name conceptually. I started with, “if I were to create a piece of New Mexico earth, what would that look like?” We have so many wonderful shades of color and light and I selected stones that would glow in certain light, but also appear reserved. The aqua greens of the variscite and flourite resemble the sage leaf; the subtle yellows and fiery flashes from the opals feel like feather grass fields; centered in the earrings is the lilac glow of the chalcedony reminiscent of lavender bushes.
