Lapis Room is proud to present  a vibrant celebration of folk art and devotional traditions viewed through a

unique floral lens. Bringing together 22

multidisciplinary artists primarily from the

American Southwest, the exhibition explores

folk art as a vital bridge that connects us all

through shared human experience.

This collection features a stunning array of folk & floral-inspired works,

highlighting how handmade traditions cross cultural boundaries to create beauty,

honor memory, and foster deep communal bonds. Through diverse backgrounds,

a light is shone on the legacy of storytelling through inlaid leather boots, paper

mache icons, intricate clay and wood-carved altars and other craft media.

“We are incredibly excited to share a story around human connection.” says Laura

Houghton, curator and founder of Lapis Room. “It’s the true mission of the gallery,

but to invite 22 incredibly talented voices together to shape our contemporary

story is such an honor. These artists are the sacred makers of our time in American history, and as the world perseveres through hardship, you have to hope that art

will remain our constant. It’s something we all share. It’s as essential as the sun

and the moon... and flowers. You have to hope that we will always be connected

through flowers.”
