Born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Stephen Mora is an 8th generation New Mexican. Mora’s work explores mixed media art, computational design, and the application of experimental techniques.  His work captures the art of expression and individuality that is embodied in a lowrider. Through colorful geometric patterns and the complex process of layering tape - masking regions, back-masking, and airbrushing - a unique and flamboyant identity emerges. Each piece, unique and distinct, is derived from a lifelong affinity for the art of lowriding, specifically inspired by the meticulous and acclaimed work of New Mexico’s own Rob Vanderslice.
