Thomas Christopher Haag

Painter. Muralist.

Thomas Christopher Haag appears to be a human on a planet who likes to make things he thinks of. He's been to a lot of strange places, had a lot of adventures, and did weird things on the regular (some he's really proud of, and others not so much). He moved around a lot, almost pathologically, and liked to practice obscure things that kind of seemed useless at the time. In his 30s, he decided to become an artist because he could keep doing weird things and making things he thought of and maybe pay rent, too. And for more than 20 years, he's had a really good time doing that. He got away with a lot of things, and was supported in strange and unlikely ways.

Then not too long ago, depending on when you read this, something very unexpected and seemingly random happened to him under a tree on a mountain. He'll talk to you about it if you ask him and he thinks you're really interested. All of a sudden, he wasn't really a human on a planet, and he wasn't really an artist. In fact, he was no longer really Thomas Christopher Haag. He was more like a verb among verbs. A happening happening inside a happening. A tool being used by a Big Divine Thing that he doesn't understand. He was very confused about this and, quite frankly, he still is. But he thinks that's OK, he eats mysteries and paradoxes for breakfast. He still likes to make things he thinks of, and he sits around a lot looking at things or closing his eyes and pretending he's furniture. He also likes to pretend he's a walking tree and enjoys having science fiction adventures in his sleep. He still does a lot of weird things on the regular, but he mostly keeps them to himself. He probably has way too much fun by himself.

If you buy the things he makes, you're basically enabling a very contented lunatic. But he really does appreciate it, he'll probably hug you and tell you he loves you. And he'll mean it. He also likes to tell complete strangers he loves them, sometimes very inappropriately, and he likes to compliment their pants and their faces.

He lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico, which he loves, surrounded by weird people he loves.  He has two imaginary pets named Body and Mind, and still gets away with a lot.
